Hello Fourth Grade Families!
Hard to believe that we only have two more weeks until Spring Break! We have wrapped up our novel study of the The Watsons go to Birmingham. We took our final test for this novel this past week. We will watch the movie version of the story next week and compare and contrast the book with the movie. We will begin our next novel study of The Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing by Judy Blume after that. We have also been working on figurative language like metaphors, similes, hyperbole, personification, on0matopoeia, and alliteration. We will finish up our figurative language unit with idioms next week. We continue to work on our Mythical Beasts research project. We will be publishing the essays into an actual book. More information will be coming. In math, we are finishing up our decimals unit and will be taking the unit test next week. In science, we continue to learn about energy. Energy is a really good topic for these kids!
****RECESS REMINDER***
We are entering into that weird stage of Chicago weather. You know! We will have all four seasons in the same day. Please dress your child in layers. We will go outside if there is a chance of it and it will be better if the students are dressed accordingly.
