Happy February!
It has been a couple of weeks since I have updated our classroom news, but we have been very busy. We have officially begun our novel study, The Watsons Go to Birmingham. It is a very powerful story and I hope the children are enjoying it. We will have our first test next week on Wednesday. We are also finishing our African American Biographies. Students took a virtual field trip to China in honor of Chinese New Years and made paper lanterns. We had a spectacular 4th/5th grade Olympics and a great time at the Mardi Gras Fair. In honor of Madi Gras, we made masks with our Faith Buddies. We also continue to learn about fossils and had a fossil sort with partners. In math, we have learned about mixed numbers, fractions, and improper fractions and will be taking the chapter test in about a week. We have been busy!
