Dear Parents,
It is so hard to believe that Christmas is only a week and a half a way! The students are really getting excited! We have been busy this week working on our Christmas Around the World compare and contrast essays with Christmas in the United States. We also took our first test for Sideway Stories from Wayside School for chapters 1-15. In math, we have wrapped up chapter 2 and will be taking our test next week. When we come back in January, we will begin our next chapter in math. In religion, we explored Empowering our Children. We talked about appropriate behaviors, touches, and internet safety. We also discussed safe adult behavior and boundary setting language. In science, students have been researching different ecosystems with their partners. When we come back from break, in January, students will bring in the materials they will need to create the ecosystem in class. We also have our Christmas program next week Thursday. Next Friday, students will be dismissed early at 11:30.
Class Reward – Your students have made me lose all of my marbles with their great behavior! As a reward, we will have a Game Board Day on Thursday, December 18. Students may bring in board and/or card games to play and share with each other.
