Classroom News 10/31

What a BOO-ti-ful week!  So much going on!  We had our Scholastic Book Fair and fourth grade went on Tuesday.  Thank you to all the parents that donated money to my wallet.  I loved getting more books for the classroom!  We continued with Red Ribbon Week, with today being the last day of the event.  We created a Halloween parody based on the Twelve Days of Christmas and sang it to grades Pre-K to fifth grade.  We wrote Halloween stories, and worked on our Saints posters for our presentation next week.  Don’t forget! Students may come dressed as their saint on Thursday, November 6 to school.  We learned about factors and multiples in math.  We are wrapping up our novel study of Number the Stars, and took our second test this past week.  In science, we learned about how an animal’s environment can impact them.  We also had our Halloween parade and party today.  What great week!

Recess Reminder

The weather has begun to cool and will, of course, continue to lower in temperature.  Please remember to dress your student in layers so that when the weather turns, they will be warm enough during recess.

I-Ready Weekly Assignment

Students are to complete and pass two assignments in Math and in Reading each week.  If they have not completed the required lessons, they will be given a reminder notice and will have to complete it at home.  Students are given five points for each lesson- which is 10 in Math and 10 in Reading.  They must complete and pass their lessons by Friday to get full credit.  If they have not completed their weekly required lessons by then, they will not receive full credit for that week.  I will do my best to make sure notice has been sent home, both in written and in email form.  However, there is a possibility that this is not done every week.  Please check your child’s I-Ready dashboard to see where they are at in their progress to complete weekly assignments.
