Dear Fourth Grade Families,
I hope everyone is enjoying the amazing weather we’ve had so far in October. In language arts, we continue our biographical writing about our saints, and we have also begun writing an opinion essay about Christopher Columbus- is he a hero or a villain? Students will examine primary-source historical evidence to be used as support for their opinion. We have begun the third, and last, section of Number the Stars and will be wrapping up the novel in the next two weeks. We worked in groups to create posters about the three main archangels- St. Michael, St. Gabriel, and St. Raphael. We worked with our faith buddies to create monsters that the fourth grade will be creating a small narrative about for their particular monster. In science, we continue our study of animal and plant characteristics and how animals and plants respond to their environment. Enjoy the three-day weekend!
MORNING MATH CLUB- Students who want extra math help can come to school early on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings at 7:30 and go to my room. This will begin Tuesday, October 13th. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
