Hello Fourth Grade Families,
Fun Run! Fun Week! This was a great week of excitement. Students were out of Uniform every day and their Fun Run was today. We had the School Spelling Bee yesterday, and one of our fourth graders tied for first place. Congrats! We also got our caterpillars this week. Students are keeping an observation journal to document the changes that the caterpillars are undergoing. It is a really fun project. We continue our poetry unit and creating our poem books. We also continue our novel study of Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing. We continue our measurement unit in math, and will be getting ready soon to take our unit test. We also finished our unit on energy and will begin our unit on motion next week. In religion, we talked about how we can be like Jesus and be a rainbow in someone’s cloud. Next week, we will begin our endangered species unit and we be creating a class zoo with them. More information will be going home for that soon. Students have one rewards for their Fun Run fundraising. Monday is Mixed Up and Opposite Day. They can come dressed in mixed up and opposite clothing. Tuesday is Pajama Day, Students can come dressed in their pajamas. Finally, our ABC countdown begins on Thursday.

We are entering into that weird stage of Chicago weather. You know! We will have all four seasons in the same day. Please dress your child in layers. We will go outside if there is a chance of it and it will be better if the students are dressed accordingly.
