Another great week! We still continue out novel study of Number the Stars. We are finishing our revisions and final copies of our scientist biographies. We will review commas and how to use editing marks to help our editing skills in writing. In Math, we will have our Chapter 1 test on Monday. Hopefully, these will be returned to the students on Tuesday. I will review the tests with each student individually, and then they can take the test home to make corrections for partial credit. This is entirely up to each student if they want to or not. The corrections are due the next day. All students are required to have their tests signed and return them to school the next day, as well. We will them begin our next unit on multiplication and division. In science, we continue to observe our beans sprouting in their Ziplock bags and journaling their observations. We will also begin our next section in science on how plants reproduce. In Religion, we will examine how Jesus leads us to happiness. We will also study and learn about the Beatitudes.
I-Ready Weekly Assignment
Students are to complete and pass two assignments in Math and in Reading each week. If they have not completed the required lessons, they will be given a reminder notice and will have to complete it at home. Students are given five points for each lesson- which is 10 in Math and 10 in Reading. They must complete and pass their lessons by Friday to get full credit. If they have not completed their weekly required lessons by then, they will not receive full credit for that week. I will do my best to make sure notice has been sent home, both in written and in email form. However, there is a possibility that this is not done every week. Please check your child’s I-Ready dashboard to see where they are at in their progress to complete weekly assignments.
